A real world mountain bike club
Godiva Trailriders is a real world mountain bike club based in Coventry,
England. The club is aimed at the enthusiast more than the elite.
Now, in 2010, we're in our 6th year and the club is growing in membership and participation. We've over 60 regular riders and have a busy diary.
Coventry, whilst admittedly not exactly the mountain biking centre of the universe, does have some pretty interesting rides. The way we see it, we have to make the most of what we've got and, most importantly, it's supposed to be fun.
We ride at the pace of the slowest, never leave stragglers and appreciate that learning is the hard part. As we ride all year round, a good set of lights is essential, especially in the winter.
Our riders come from Coventry, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth, Birmingham, Marston Green and Nuneaton. We're always welcoming to new riders, irrespective of their steed, skill or experience.
A thick skin really helps (and it's not just for the nettles and thorns!!), as does the ability to rip the pish out of people and laugh at your own failings!
If you're really bored on a Wednesday night, check the Diary section, and join us, usually at The Shepherd on the Keresley Road, Coventry at 19:00.
We reckon you may just enjoy it.
